Voting Rules and Guidelines
Welcome to our community’s monthly book voting! We want to make sure everyone understands how our voting process works, so here’s a simple overview of the rules:
Who Can Vote
- Members Only:
Only registered and logged-in users can vote. This keeps our voting process fair and secure.
When You Can Vote
Voting Period:
Polls are open during a set period each month. Look for the announcement or check the polls page to see the exact dates. One Vote per Cycle:
You get to vote once during each voting period. Your vote is counted only for the current cycle.
How Voting Works
Casting Your Vote:
When polls are open, simply click on the “VOTE” button for your favorite book. Your vote is recorded instantly.Eligible Books:
Only books that have not yet been assigned a reading schedule are eligible to be voted on. This means that if a book already has its reading dates set, it cannot receive additional votes for the current poll.
What Happens After Voting
Locking in the Winner:
Once the voting period ends, the book with the highest number of votes (among those without an assigned reading schedule) is chosen as the “current pick.”- This winning book is then “locked in” and its reading schedule is set based on the admin’s defined reading period range.
- Once a winner is locked in, the choice remains fixed for that cycle.
New Poll Cycle:
When the new poll cycle starts, all vote counts are reset and the system is ready for a fresh round of voting. This ensures that each poll is independent of the previous one.
A Few Friendly Reminders
Double-Check Your Choice:
Remember, you only have one vote per cycle, so make sure your choice is the one you really want!Respect the Process:
Once the polls close and a winner is selected, that decision is final for that period. We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep the process fair.Need Help?
